Kundalini yoga is a complete practice, integrating breathing techniques, exercises, and meditation that work on specific states of mind and specific energy flows through the body and its various physiological systems. Meditations are enhanced through the use of mantra or chanting. It uses a sound technology that alters the state of the brain to bring it into emotional, mental and intellectual balance. Each Kundalini yoga class typically has a warm up or pranayama (breath technique), the Kriya (a set of exercises to achieve a specific result), a deep relaxation and a meditation. These sets last approximately 1 ½ hours although it is possible to arrange combinations for shorter or longer class times.
